CU – Williams Village East Residence Hall

Adding to our ever-growing portfolio of landmark higher education projects,
BCER was contracted for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection/fire
alarm, and technology engineering services for CU Boulder’s newest residence
hall, Williams Village East. The project was delivered on time and under budget,
even when the project scope increased from 500 beds to 700 beds. The facility
was built to accommodate:

  • Shared and private bathrooms
  • Study rooms and lounges on each floor
  • Laundry
  • Added monitors in the multi-purpose rooms for accessible gaming
  • Resident kitchen area
  • Two hall director apartments
  • Large south facing patio
  • Covered bike storage

Some engineering systems of note are:

  • Backup generator for critical loads
  • Indirect/direct evaporative cooling and energy recovery
  • A horizontal, four pipe fan coil unit and dedicated thermostat in each
    residential room
  • Card access system
  • A/V and Telecom system geared for multi-user, high-capacity gaming
