CU – Williams Village Phase II Student Housing

BCER Engineering provided the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Life Safety and Fire Protection Engineering services for the 131,246 gsf., 500-bed University of Colorado at Boulder Williams Village Phase II Residence Hall project.  BCER’s goal was to provide the University of Colorado at Boulder with a set of reliable systems which coexist with the building, provide comfort for the occupants, have long term value in terms of Life Cycle Costs (i.e. energy and maintenance) and remain cognizant of LEED (“Green”) Building requirements as well as the “Energy Star” programs.  The University of Colorado at Boulder Board of Regents set a goal of LEED Platinum for the Williams Village Residence Hall.  The project achieved a USGBC LEED Platinum certification and BCER Engineering provided the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design to achieve this lofty goal.

As part of this project BCER Engineering also provided the University of Colorado with a study of the Williams Village Central Plant. This study included an analysis of current and future load profiles, capacities, distribution, machinery room compliance, and electrical service/distribution.  First costs and operating costs were also included in this analysis.
