ARVADA, Colo. – April 30, 2013 – BCER Engineering, one of the largest full service engineering and design firms in Colorado, today announced the acquisition of Rimrock Group Inc., a Colorado Springs-based engineering consultancy firm specializing in the design of technology systems.
With the acquisition of Rimrock Group, BCER now provides a robust list of engineering services that includes mechanical, electrical, life safety, fire protection, technology engineering and information technology systems. Specifically, Rimrock Group will bring more than 14 years of information technology, telecom, audio/visual and security design and engineering experience to the BCER family.
“Rimrock Group has been our go-to technology design partner for several years and we’ve worked with John Thompson and his team on a long list of very successful projects,” said Marc Espinosa, president of BCER. “Rimrock is one of the best technology design firms in the region. This acquisition is a win-win-win for everyone involved: BCER, Rimrock, and both companies’ clients who will now benefit from working with one, full-service engineering and design firm. I am excited to welcome Rimrock to the BCER family and even more excited to see what our two companies can accomplish together.”
Both BCER and Rimrock are known for their engineering and design work throughout the Front Range, and for their work servicing government, education, healthcare and corporate clients, in particular. The two companies have recently worked together on a number high profile projects including the new Auraria Science Building and Remodel, the new Children’s Hospital in Highlands Ranch, the Vestas manufacturing facilities, and the Williams Village Towers for the University of Colorado.
“We have considered BCER a trusted partner for years, and I know I speak on behalf of everyone at Rimrock when I say how excited we are to be officially joining forces with the BCER team,” said John Thompson, founder and president of Rimrock Group. “Our two companies are perfectly aligned and share the same philosophies of doing great work while developing strong personal relationships with our clients, colleagues and partners.”
There are no plans to eliminate positions at either company, and all employees will continue to work from their current offices in either Arvada or Colorado Springs.
“This is truly an example of two companies being stronger together than apart,” said Espinosa. “We look forward to working side by side with each and every one of Rimrock’s employees and sharing their expertise with our clients for years to come.”
