DENVER-BASED ENGINEERING FIRM BCER NAMES DAVID NUSS DIRECTOR OF LIFE SAFETY
Nuss succeeds Jason Miller and Steve Rodinelli in Life Safety director role
Denver, CO – January 11, 2018 – BCER, a Denver, Colorado-based full-service MEP engineering, technology, and life safety firm serving the commercial, industrial, institutional and government markets, proudly announces David Nuss as new director of life safety. With more than 35 years of experience in risk mitigation, Nuss draws on his extensive experience as a firefighter to support both consultation and interface with code officials.
“David brings impressive field experience to this position, along with impressive credentials in a variety of risk areas,” said David Hughes, president and CEO of BCER. “He has worked to keep Coloradans safe and alive from DIA to the Eisenhower Tunnel and from Pueblo High School to hospitals all over the state; not to mention his decades of firefighting service in both Colorado and Oregon. We are thrilled to have someone of David’s caliber leading our Life Safety division.”
Prior to joining BCER, Nuss was division manager for the National Fire Protection Association, charged with the Wildland Fire Operations on a national level. Previously he served for 10 years as the NFPA Denver regional manager, providing code adoption and technical direction in an eight-state region. Nuss began his career as a firefighter and progressed through the ranks to Deputy Chief, Building Official, and Fire Marshal. During that time, he served on various state and national committees regarding technical fire code development and public education, as well as community outreach.
Nuss holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Management from Regis University. He has served on Boards of Directors in Rocky Mountains Chapters of both the Society of Fire Protection Engineers and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
