Colorado Convention Center Expansion

The expansion of the Colorado Convention Center included a 900,000-sf expansion of the exhibit hall, meeting rooms, ballrooms, and the grand ballroom.  Also included in the project was a 400,000-sf parking structure for 1,000 cars located on the site of the relocated Currigan Hall.  BCER was responsible for all power, lighting, controls, fire alarm, and standby emergency generation with paralleling gear for the expansion and coordinated with the 600,000-sf original Convention Center. One of the most critical elements in the initial phase of the project was the relocation of the existing, and operating RTD Light Rail to the new alignment.  The existing configuration was transferred one block to the north and ran under the new structure.  The Light Rail had to remain in operation, so close coordination was imperative during the move.
