AHEC Tivoli Brewing Co. Tap House

In 2014, planning began for the remodel of the existing Cimarron Coffee shop and the Boiler Room at Auraria Higher Education Center, converting these spaces into the new Tivoli Brew House, Brewery, and warehouse. The scope of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering for this remodel was extensive and presented BCER with many unique challenges. The overall approach is to maintain the historic significance of the existing space while providing for the programmed needs of the tenant. The main entrance to the brewhouse will be through the existing Cimarron entrance with an additional entrance to the future beer garden located directly outside to the north & east. A glass wall separates the brewhouse from the actual brewing process to allow customers to observe the brewing process and operations. The scope of the project also includes the following: removal of the existing elevator and stair in the brewhouse; remodel and modernization of the existing restrooms; renovation of bar and taproom and extend to the north; renovation of the existing kitchen; conversion of the existing Boiler Room Lounge into Tivoli Brewery; development of new bottling area in the southeast corner of existing space; development of a small bar/viewing area with direct access to the brewhouse; and development of a refrigerated warehouse to accommodate beer storage.
