DPS – Lowry Elementary
The Lowry Elementary School was originally built in 2001. Due to community growth, Denver Public Schools commissioned BCER to provide MEP, Fire Alarm, Fire Protection, and Technology consulting services to add two new additions to the school. There was a 8,600 sf addition (six classrooms) added to the East end of the school, and a 3,200 sf addition (two classrooms) added to the West end of the school.

DPS DCIS at Fairmount Elementary School
BCER Engineering provided Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services for the mechanical and electrical system upgrades to DCIS at Fairmont ECE-8. The following outlines BCER Engineering’s scope: • Replace the HVAC units serving all classrooms in the building • Provide a cooling unit for the computer classroom located on the 2nd floor • Provide new hot water heating distribution piping in the 1924 building • Provide new temperature controls for all new equipment. • Remodel the restrooms in the 1924 building • Miscellaneous upgrades to support architectural work in the 1972 addition • Balance the HVAC system in the 1972 addition • Recommission the temperature controls in the 1972 addition • Conversion of the 1924 building to hot water via new heat exchanger

DPS – Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy
With our long-standing relationship with Denver Public Schools, we were contracted to help them with engineering designs to upgrade components at the Knapp Elementary school, and the Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy. The Scope of work at Knapp included: replacing all classroom unit ventilators, replacing five roof-mounted exhaust fans, replacing the domestic water tank, and providing DDC controls on new equipment. The Scope of work at Kunsmiller included MEP renovations to the existing Health Clinic (approximately 700 sf) and creating an ADA accessible restroom.
