Trimble Navigation’s new 124,000 sq.ft., four-story office building is located in the west region of Westminster.  Construction was completed in the spring of 2013.  The approximately 600 occupants enjoy an open floor plan that compliments the glazing system highlighting the Colorado landscape.  This LEED Gold (as submitted) facility is heating and cooled by indirect/direct evaporative cooling, with heat recovery and high-efficiency condensing boilers.  All levels are equipped with LED lighting. For emergency situations during loss of commercial power, a backup diesel generator provides power for all critical occupant and communication systems.   The design and construction team benefited from the use of Revit and productive 3-D modeling coordination meetings starting at the end of SDs.

The facility lighting power has been field verified to be a total building average of 0.53w/sq.ft.  This is less than half of what is allowed by code!  The implemented energy-saving techniques are projected to reduce power costs by 33.2% when compared to a baseline facility.
