Highlights of the new health 350,000-sf St. Anthony North Medical Campus include 60,000 sf of integrated physician clinics for both primary and specialty care, ambulatory surgery center, birthing center with private birthing suites, level III Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services, 92 inpatient beds and outpatient diagnostics center with lab and imaging services. BCER’s 3rd party review services for the 350,000-sf health and wellness facility included review of the construction documents, specifications, and applicable shop drawings to identify fire protection and life safety issues related to the adopted codes and standards and AIA Health Care Guidelines.  Specific items addressed by BCER included egress analysis, smoke compartments and smoke management systems design and permit review, review smoke control system rational analysis and modeling for the atrium, review fire alarm design and permit review, review automatic fire sprinkler design and permit review, review fuel storage system for emergency generation and boiler system and medical gas design, permit review and on-site observations. In addition, BCER prepared documentation and issued permits on behalf of the City of Westminster Fire Department, participated in on-site meetings representing the jurisdiction on matters related to fire protection systems and provided commissioning and observation of fire protection and life safety systems.
