Children’s Hospital Colorado – South Campus

The Children’s Hospital Colorado South Campus facility in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, expands access to specialized pediatric care for families across the southern Denver metro area. Located at the intersection of Plaza Drive and Lucent Boulevard just south of C-470, the approximately 180,000-square-foot medical campus was designed to provide comprehensive pediatric services in a single, patient-focused environment.

Delivered through a collaborative design-assist process between the owner, design team, and contractor, the project followed an accelerated schedule to bring critical healthcare services to the community in just 21 months from design through completion.

The full-service facility offers a broad spectrum of pediatric care, including 24/7 urgent care, inpatient services, outpatient specialty clinics, pediatric surgery, and advanced diagnostic and imaging capabilities. Imaging and diagnostic services include MRI, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, ECHO, EKG, EEG, audiology, and sleep studies, supporting a wide range of pediatric specialties.

The campus was carefully designed to support both clinical excellence and patient comfort, with specialized spaces including operating rooms, an infusion center, a sports medicine and therapy program with a rehabilitation gym, pharmacy, and laboratory services, and advanced imaging suites. The facility also houses numerous pediatric specialty programs such as oncology, cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, pulmonology, endocrinology, and genetics.

Through close collaboration with the project team, BCER helped deliver a modern pediatric healthcare facility that provides comprehensive, accessible care while supporting the continued growth of pediatric services in the region.
