CSM-Ben Parker Student Center
BCER engaged in the design and planning for the new residential living
community in Mines Park on the Colorado School of Mines Campus. The
master plan for the design incorporates six new residential buildings
and a new amenity/common facility. The technology aspects include
the communications infrastructure, security and audio-visual systems
to provide a safe and productive living and learning environment. This
narrative addresses the level of systems and services provided to meet
Mines standards and the operating expectations for a modern living
community.
The objective of the technology systems is to provide a comfortable
environment with basic needs that are met in a seamless manner. No
obstacles shall remain to provide the internet access, security and
information necessary to make the new residential community a
nurturing and warm environment that they will all be proud to call home
while attending the Colorado School of Mines. This involves meeting the
expectations of today’s students, including the following:
- Strong Wireless Access
- An IT Infrastructure to support the demands of Engineering
- Secure Building and Room Access
- Information Displays
- Comfortable Living and Collaboration Areas
- Wired Support for POS, Back Office, and Food Service Functions
- Digital Signage
- Menu Boards
- General Communications/Promotions
- AV to Support Conference Room, Study Rooms, Fitness Room, Reception/Security, Business Center, Vending and Storage and Meeting Rooms
